A special visit

24.12.2019

Shortly after METAdrasi was honoured with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation‘s Humanitarian Prize, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, on a trip from Los Angeles with his wife, made a stop over for a couple of days in Athens and found the time to visit us in our offices. They met METAdrasi’s team, talked enthusiastically about our work and made us all feel proud!

Our guests also visited METAdrasi’s accommodation facility for unaccompanied children in Athens, where the children greeted them with laughter and treats and gave them drawings.

One of the most moving moments was when the wife took out a handmade baby quilt to donate to METAdrasi. This quilt traveled to our shelter in Samos, where it won the heart of a three-year-old unaccompanied child from Syria who now enjoys its sweet warmth!

We wholeheartedly thank James and Mary for their support, encouraging words and, above all, the inspiration they gave us!
