Together in Sport – Phase II: One world, one ball!

More than 200 children and young people aged 7 to 21 years old from the accommodation facilities of Lesvos, together with their peers from the local community, showed their love for basketball by participating in the “One world, one ball!” event.

METAdrasi and the Hellenic Olympic Committee, in the framework of “Together in Sport – Phase II”, in cooperation with the Municipality of Mytilene and the Local Committee of the Hellenic Basketball Federation of Lesvos, organized on July 25 and 26, a sports event focusing on this popular sport, at the Central Lyceums of Mytilene.

The action was a great success and brought the children even closer to each other, but also to the sport that scores… three-pointers in their hearts!

At the end of the event, all participants received surprise gifts, along with the “Together in Sport – Phase II” medal, while the 20 luckiest ones received a basket ball.

We warmly thank the Municipality of Mytilene and the Local Committee of the Hellenic Basketball Federation of Lesvos with its highly qualified coaches, the Hellenic Rescue Team Lesvos Branch, as well as the Directors of the Mytilene High School of the Aegean University and the 2nd General High School of Mytilene for providing the courts. Finally, we thank former international basketball player, Nikos Chatzivrettas and the professional coach in the team Hapoel Tel Aviv, Stefanos Dedas, for their presence.

“Together in Sport – Phase II” is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the Hellenic Olympic Committee, and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB).
