Metadrasi - METAdrasi chios shelter beach cleaning 1

A note-worthy cleaning action on the beach of the Chios Nautical Club, took place after an invitation of our shelter. The unaccompanied children, a representative of the Environmental Education Centre of Chios and the 1st Scout System of Chios, first got to know each other through a game and then, with gloves and bags “in hand”, they started to clean the beach.

Throughout the cleaning, the representative of the environmental education centre informed the children about the ways in which we can protect the environment and keep our seas clean, while when the children collected all the rubbish that some of us “forget” on the beach, they engaged in land art. Divided into groups, they chose their theme and with sand, stones and wood, they created their own works of art.

At the end, they all sat down to enjoy the beauty of the works they created on the now clean beach…
