The children were divided in groups, according to their age. The older ones presented the traditions of this muslim celebration, that takes place at the end of the month “Ramadan”, the islamic holy month of fasting. They discussed and afterwards they celebrated by dancing, singing and playing.
“Eid Mubarak! It was a truly amazing day!”, said Ramla full of joy, picking one of the colourful balloons with which they had decorated the center.
More than 450 school age children benefit on a daily basis from the activities of METAdrasi’s Non-Formal Education Centers in Lesvos and in Chios, that are being implemented with the support of UNHCR and co-funding by the European Commission.
